I LOVE this Machine. We had one when I was a kid back in the 70's. When my Mom passed I got that one and It STILL works pretty good. The blades need sharpening a bit but considering the age what can you expect. I just got one of these new models for my daughter. I was so happy to find they still made them as she was hinting around about wanting mine. :0)

The design change creates more pieces to store but does add flexibility. However, the blade that is not here is a slicing blade for beets, onions and potatoes if you want full straight across slices.

We had a vego matic when we were kids and I couldn't find one until I saw this one. The only thing wrong was you made these parts out of plastic and the one we had was metal and made stronger !

I have an older version of this slicer. The picture shown on the ad was the same as the item I have, when I got the slicer, it was not the same. The blades are different and it does not have a 1/4" slice blade that my original does. Also, the blades are plastic now instead of metal. I tried emailing the company, but did not get any response. I'm disappointed!
