For more than 100 years, Douglas has been producing quality American made products for home and auto, including a full line of Vacuum Cleaners and other floor care products under the Readivac label. Millions of Americans already own a ReadiVac product (as did their parents and grandparents), although it might have a different name on it, since Douglas has also been producing products for the leading names in America for over 50 years.
Douglas began in 1902 as a manufacturer of electrical hardware for the automotive industry. As early as 1940, Douglas began producing vacuum cleaners for the Rexair Company, then began marketing its own brand of products following World War II. Later its business expanded to become a producer for major retailers and other labels in a variety of product categories.
Following its acquisition by the Scott Fetzer company in 1968, and in order to facilitate the expansion of the product line and achieve greater operational efficiency, the vacuum cleaner manufacturing operation relocated to Walnut Ridge, AR in 1971. In 1985, Scott Fetzer was acquired by Warren Buffet's company, Berkshire Hathaway.
The Douglas ReadiVac line features innovative, powerful cleaning tools for home and auto. Match your cleaning needs to the ReadiVac that's specifically engineered to meet those needs. |
